Terms of Use

Effective Date: June 2026
Organization Name: Sunshine State Homeschoolers
Website: https://www.sunshinestatehomeschoolers.com/

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or participating in the programs, events, activities, services, memberships, or community opportunities offered by Sunshine State Homeschoolers (“SSH,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use this website, register for programs, or participate in SSH activities.

2. Organization Role

Sunshine State Homeschoolers is a nonprofit homeschool support organization and service provider. SSH is not a private school, public school, umbrella school, or government agency. Participation in SSH programs does not constitute enrollment in a school. Parents and guardians remain responsible for their child’s education, supervision, curriculum choices, academic records, legal compliance, and any homeschool or private school requirements that apply to their family.

3. Programs, Events, and Services

SSH may offer homeschool support services, community events, co-ops, clubs, classes, field trips, academic enrichment activities, consultations, membership opportunities, resource sharing, and other family services.

Program details, schedules, locations, availability, instructors, volunteers, vendors, and activities may change at any time. SSH reserves the right to modify, postpone, cancel, or discontinue any program, event, or service when necessary.

4. Parent/Guardian Responsibility

Parents and guardians are responsible for determining whether a program, event, activity, service, or resource is appropriate for their child and family. Unless a specific program is clearly advertised as drop-off, parents/guardians are expected to remain responsible for their children at all times. Parents/guardians are also responsible for their child’s behavior, safety, participation, and compliance with all program rules.

5. Conduct Expectations

Families participating in SSH programs are expected to behave respectfully toward other families, students, volunteers, instructors, vendors, staff, and community partners. SSH may deny, limit, suspend, or terminate participation for behavior that is disruptive, unsafe, disrespectful, harassing, discriminatory, threatening, dishonest, or otherwise inconsistent with the purpose of the organization.

6. Registration, Fees, and Strict No Refund Policy

Registration or participation is confirmed only when payment is completed, if payment is required. ALL PAYMENTS ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This includes, but is not limited to, payments for memberships, registrations, classes, clubs, co-ops, field trips, events, consultations, services, supplies, vendor programs, deposits, processing fees, and donations. No refunds or credits will be issued for withdrawal, non-attendance, scheduling conflicts, illness, dissatisfaction, change of plans, dismissal, missed events, unused services, or failure to review program details before registering.

7. Donations

Donations made to Sunshine State Homeschoolers are voluntary and non-refundable. Donations do not guarantee participation in any specific program, event, service, or benefit unless clearly stated in writing.

8. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

By submitting payment, you agree not to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute for fees that are clearly identified as non-refundable. If a payment dispute or chargeback is initiated, SSH may suspend or terminate access to programs, services, memberships, registrations, or future participation until the issue is resolved. The family may be responsible for any fees, recovery costs, or expenses associated with the dispute.

9. Third-Party Providers, Vendors, and Locations

Some programs or services may involve third-party providers, venues, vendors, instructors, platforms, or community partners. These third parties may have their own policies, waivers, privacy practices, fees, rules, and refund restrictions.

SSH is not responsible for the actions, policies, services, cancellations, errors, or decisions of third-party providers.

10. Health, Safety, and Assumption of Risk

Participation in homeschool programs, events, field trips, co-ops, classes, and activities may involve ordinary risks, including illness, injury, accidents, allergic reactions, property loss, or other unexpected circumstances. By participating, parents/guardians accept responsibility for evaluating risks and supervising their children appropriately. SSH is not responsible for injuries, illness, damages, losses, or other claims arising from participation except where prohibited by law.

11. Photos, Videos, and Media

SSH may take photos or videos at events or activities for organizational, promotional, historical, or social media purposes. Families who do not want their child photographed or recorded must notify SSH in writing before participating and should also remind the event leader on site. SSH will make reasonable efforts to honor photo restrictions but cannot guarantee that a child will not appear in group photos, crowd images, or photos taken by other families.

12. Website and Resource Information

Information on this website is provided for general homeschool support and community purposes. SSH makes reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that all information will always be complete, current, or error-free. Families are responsible for verifying information before making educational, legal, financial, or program decisions.

13. Intellectual Property

Website content, forms, guides, graphics, documents, program materials, logos, and written materials created by SSH may not be copied, modified, distributed, sold, or reused without written permission.

14. Limitation of Liability

SSH does not guarantee academic outcomes, legal compliance, scholarship approval, scholarship eligibility, scholarship reimbursement, program availability, social outcomes, student progress, or family satisfaction. Not all SSH services, programs, events, memberships, consultations, materials, or fees are eligible for reimbursement through scholarship programs, including SUFS. SSH may participate with Step Up For Students or other scholarship-related programs as a service to families. However, SSH is a parent-led nonprofit community and service organization and does not rely on scholarship funding to operate. Participation as a provider or vendor does not guarantee that any purchase, service, event, or program will be approved, funded, or reimbursed. Families are responsible for reviewing all scholarship rules, purchasing guides, reimbursement requirements, and eligibility guidelines before making a payment. SSH may provide invoices, receipts, or documentation upon request when available, but documentation does not guarantee scholarship approval or reimbursement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SSH is not liable for indirect, incidental, financial, educational, personal, or consequential damages related to use of the website, participation in programs, reliance on information provided, scholarship denial, reimbursement denial, or inability to use scholarship funds for SSH services.

15. Indemnification

You agree to hold harmless and indemnify Sunshine State Homeschoolers, its directors, officers, volunteers, instructors, contractors, partners, and representatives from claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising from your family’s participation, conduct, submitted information, or violation of these Terms.

16. Communication

Families should use the official website forms or email for communication. Response times may vary depending on program needs, volume of requests, holidays, or volunteer availability. Repeated, excessive, inappropriate, or disrespectful communication may result in communication limits or termination of participation.

17. Changes to These Terms

SSH may update these Terms of Use at any time. Updates will be posted on this page. Continued use of the website or participation in SSH programs after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
